-Lots of comedic banter between Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy troupe.
"He's not a dude, you're a dude. This... this is a man. A handsome man."
-Thor always make the epic entrances.
-Most epic battle was with Spider-man, Iron Man, Drax, Mantis, Dr.Strange vs Thanos on Titan.
2nd was the defense of Wakanda and the protection of Vision's Mind stone.
-Lots of non-permanent deaths.
-Captain Marvel mention in post credit.
-CGI fest galore.
I also don't get how Thor's new hammer, the Stormbreaker could take on a fully powered infinity gauntlet. There wasn't much else to say because most of the other scenes were CGI fight after CGI fight after CGI fight.
- lots of board members thought the humor was too much. I didn't, and this descendent of IMDB is clearly more cynical and negative than its predecessor, but I did think of the GotG antics pushed a little close to "too far." Still, they were consistent with their own films and true to themselves, so it fits. Peter & Gamora's star-crossed love fits especially well with the tragicomic tone of the GotG films
- as has been pointed out by many, the non-permanent deaths underscore the likely permanent ones (Loki, Gamora) and even more likely permanent deaths in the next film (the original, highly-priced Avengers, several of whose actors have explicitly quit the MCU)
- that the Titan team nearly beat Thanos was awesome; I even liked how Thanos (I think purposely) manipulated Quill into blowing the deal
As for Thor's new hammer/maul, it was clearly played up as the "ultimate weapon," and Eitri himself said as much. It was a "king's weapon," and Thor was (only now, after "Ragnarok") a true king. While it was awesome (and to me, entirely acceptable) to see Stormbreaker survive a six-stone gauntlet attack, it also highlights the likelihood that Thor won't survive the next film. He's too powerful to be interesting any longer. And Hemsworth, like Evans, is claiming to be done with the MCU.
The last shot, of Banner's head showing out of the hulk buster armor, looked really fake
I felt the same way about Killmonger and Panther watching the sunset at the end of "Black Panther"
They looked obviously inserted - I dunno what the problem is. Probably not lighting, I figure that's easy to match. Maybe resolution? Like the humans are not in focus as much as the surroundings?
