Not really.

His columns were typical American Liberal left from the late XXth, which nowadays could be considered as far-right and close to nazism.

And the late pro-SJW messages... well, his last years were sad and complicated to say the least, locked, confined and handled like a puppet. I wouldn't give much credit.
