Still, Karellen was played with compassion which was kinda a major point which added to the tragedy, he was guiding humans on a path he could never follow himself, and the girl who played Rachel (even though she didn't figure at all in the book) was flat-out adorable, so that was a nice touch.
Of course I'd never be happy with an adaptation of Childhood's End, but I can deal with this one.

Karellen was played with compassion which was kinda a major point which added to the tragedy.....Well, he certainly wasn't cruel, but it seemed to me he was even more compassionate in the book - his character in the SyFy version seemed a bit evasive and aloof.
