they should have improved it

The two leads are great - their show was great and I had fairly high expectations prior to seeing this movie.

Seeing the movie trailer - I figured they sort of nailed it, given that they were depicting 2 guys who ended up improvising something on the spot when the situation called for it.

Seeing the intro of the film, where we see 2 hard core killers who were obviously key and peele, I figured we'd now see how they got to this point.

But... no. The 2 main characters did improvise, but the 2 hard core killers we saw ended up being someone else, even though clearly they were acted out by key and peele.

As for the whole improvisation, it wasn't as creative as I had hoped, and in order for it to work, it was necessary to depict the gangsters as being kindergarten-level dumb.

What should have been done - have the two killers be the actual 2 main characters. Have them eventually become that hard core in order to get their Keanu back. Have their improvisation take them to that high level - and have gangsters be a bit smarter.

Oh well....
