As a fan of GM even I found it unnecessarily drawn out. Funny initially but...
I will say though the joke about how hardcore GM is with the Wham references and how George just made Andrew Ridgeley disappear was clever and hilarious.

shareThis is the problem when sketch / skit shows make major movies. That scene would have been a fantastic segment on their show, but when you keep mining it for laughs for the rest of the movie, it gets old. When the guy showed his tattoo was a good callback, and that worked, although they should have placed it a little later in the movie. The rest of the related jokes they could have skipped entirely.

Except for the tripping and dreaming that he is in music video....that was terrible.
But the convincing the thugs that GM is hard core was hilarious.
