First Meryl Streep movie that I've actually wanted to see in a long time

The plot sounds like a goodie. Clueless rich lady with a terrible voice wants to be an opera singer. (Anyway, that's what it seems to be about) Sounds like good material for comedy. Although I suppose there will be a touching scene or two near the end. I also liked some of Stephen Frears' other movies. But, anyway, got big plans to see FFJ on the 28th.

I think you will enjoy it. While the plot may not be all that exciting, the relationships are very, very good. In fact, I saw a few things I didn't see the first time. Seeing it twice, was an enjoyable expereince1

The US release is late Mr. H, I saw it about 3 months ago. I liked it and it was very entertaining and if it wasn't for Frears directing, I might not have bothered. It is a good role for Streep, because her character is like a parody of an opera singer and it suited her own acting style. I also like Hugh Grant's performance in it and I am not a fan of his. He played a very warm character who did all that he could to protect Florence from being hurt and he loved her very much.

This is one of the first movies, that I wanted to see, period. I don't go to movies, and usually I'll wait until they're released on DVD. That's what I'll probably do with this one. Actually I really want to see Simon Helberg, more than I do Streep and Grant.
