Another film in the line of anti-wealth movies

Wealth = Mediocrity promoted to its fullest is surely a message here.

But in the real world mediocrity gets promoted by sheer numbers of people anyway.

Not at all. It shows Florence as using her money to support the arts and help people. In fact, it can be said the film is "anti-poor people" because it shows a lot less financially stable people taking advantage of Florence's naive demeanor and kindness to swindle her out of money. This film is essentially Ed Wood meets Poor Little Rich Girl: The Barbara Hutton Story.

OK , good to hear. By sheer numbers of people though, the upper class are badly treated by the middle class. Envy, or ignorance of, prestige is a cancer that will destroy civility.

I am guessing that you vote Republican.

There is nothing wrong with that, and neither major party is consistently effective at speaking to the concerns of middle-class and working-class voters these days.

But you fit a certain caricature, especially given that your complaint comes in an era where income inequality has reached levels not previously seen since the 1920s.

Or perhaps you are a sort of apolitical elitist ...

This isn't an anti-ANYTHING film. It simply depicts a period in the life of a woman who lived and who was loved by those whose lives she touched. It's a biography, for goodness sake!

reply

Where the fck did you get that?

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

Totally untrue. If you have wealth (level depending), then you can take care of those in need.

It's unfortunate that miss Jenkins' fantasy as a good singer was indulged, but, unlike you, she did perform.

You must be loads of fun at a party.
