Well made, but the screenplay is underdeveloped
he Ones Below is just one or two screenplay draft from being something truly special. Farr has all the materials required to construct an above-average thriller, but he stumbles with unwieldy exposition and half-baked ideas. The cold relationship between Kate and her mother is intriguing on the surface, but the film abandons it entirely without ever going deeper.
