In the beginning at dinner, the husband refers to the wife's attitude toward the new garden as being "...all v and a...". I gather it's some sort of snobbery, but does anyone know the actual meaning?

Sounds like a reference to the Victoria and Albert Museum, which is often called "the V and A."

I thought it was a reference to the V and A garden, which is gorgeous and well manicured. One would say "aspirational" in the context of the film.
