Idiot husband (spoilers)

A decent movie overall, but the husband says near the beginning that he and Kate have been together for 10 years. I have been with my wife for 11 years, and if she told me she had seen those things I would believe her, no question about it.

I also don't understand why he didn't pull his wife out of the tub and try to revive her. Then there is the call he got regarding work, and having to meet someone at the office. Didn't he ever figure out later that it was a bogus call? And what about the police? That small body of water would have been dragged and/or searched by scuba divers for the baby's body, right?

But like I said, a pretty good flick if you can get past the idiot husband.

Everyone in the movie was an idiot unfortunately. I agree about believing your spouse though. I've only been with mine for 5 years and if she said that stuff happened I'd believe her and take off ASAP.

Of course, had the wife taken the camera instead of putting it back like an idiot, she'd have proof. If she just got a nanny cam she'd have proof, etc. I also agree about the river, they'd dredge it and find out it's the cats body and not the baby.

There are a couple of issues in the film that requires suspension of disbelief to get past them. One, I thought drinking while pregnant was a no no. Two, who would give their neighbor who blames you for their stillborn baby their own child to babysit? Three, if I suspect my creepy neighbors may have bad intent towards me and is secretly breast feeding my child, I'd probably cancel my milk delivery at the front of the house.

No, Kate was right about a small amount of alcohol daily not affecting a pregnancy. American doctors are pretty much the only ones who urge pregnant women not to drink at all, though research doesn't uphold this suggestion.

Seems as if she was not happy about the baby at all. Kate surmises her husband called the mom bc Kate had said something abt her mom never visiting her.

That often annoys me in movies. What kind of partner doesn't just take your word for things, especially after the neighbors themselves clearly had a history of insanity? Yeah Jon did make Kate look crazy in front of her husband by making it seem like she forgets stuff and lies, still though.

another thing that bothered me was the fact that he never questioned what happened to his wife or the baby. he just assumed that she had committed suicide and that she had killed the baby.
