Mia story is sloppy

So end season 1 she doesn't want to create conscious synths, start of season 2 is against saving them as it's too big a risk, gets betrayed and now all of a sudden is on crazy train to do the two things she's against?

It seems incredibly out of character especially given she's essentially the oldest and most mature and cautious of the synths. "Oh noes, some dude I've known a couple weeks, who's known me like 2 days sold me....BURN THEM ALL TO THE GROUND!" it's sloppy.

reply

It means she's become more "human". She's learning from her mistakes.

reply

I don't like the direction they're going with Mia.

I guess Mia going pro-synth is a natural response considering she placed so much trust in that man only to have it destroyed with nasty betrayal. She had strong feelings for him, so the damage is a bit more substantial. I dunno.

reply

She hasn't learned perspective yet. One human hurting her =/= ALL humans will hurt her and therefore cannot be trusted. heck actual humans haven't figured that out yet. If actual adult humans who have had emotions all their lives haven't figured this out, what hope does a synth a few years to a decade old who JUST acquired emotions have?

reply

She hasn't just acquired emotions. She's had them for 15 years...

She's essentially the mature/motherly pragmatic personality of them as demonstrated in the later half of season 1 and first part of season 2. She is largely about protecting them at the expense of others (she was opposed to making more or rescuing them) then she goes and does something entirely opposite to what her main personality has been because 1 human (that she's not had an affinity for trust towards given she's all about not exposing themselves) did her wrong....seriously? YOU WERE HACKED INTO AND HAD YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS TURNED OFF just prior to season 1 and as a result was subject to rape, but you draw the line at someone desperate for $$$ to take care of their mother who realistically has only just met you selling you off....it's like she turned her brain off for the sloppy writing to get by.

reply

The whole of season 2 has been sloppy.

reply

Season 2 has been brilliant.

My Chimp DNA seems to have lost its password temporarily. Sluggr-2

"Hell have no fury like a woman scorned" I think the situation made her realise her kind will not be given freedom or equality, she's been sold twice now like an object or at best like cattle, once by bad people but the second time by a human she thought was a good person who liked/loved her. This has lead her to change, she hasn't become crazy like hester but has come to the conclusion waiting for humans to do the 'right' thing is not working.
