If I was the dad I would be tempted to be like..

"Alright Sophie, lets 'wake you up' "

'Plug her into the software' then pretend to use the code on her.

Or do you think that would subconciously reinforce the syndrome sophie has?

BTW, if violence doesn't solve anything, then there's no point in engaging in violence.
