She broke up with Zepata 2 years before Hayley was born? Then she had a baby by another man - unknown and unnamed who left her after the baby was born; right? So, when did she reconcile with Zepata? Was it when the baby was born? But how could that be if she broke up with Zepata 2 years earlier?

She got away with lying about Miguel long enough to raise her daughter on her own already. I really don't see the point of keeping up the lie. The kid is basically raised without the father anyway. It's only going to put Harlee's adult relationship with the kid in danger.

That's what I did not understand.
The abuse that Miguel inflicted on Harley and the fact that Christina's grown up into a great kid are reason alone why Miguel does NOT deserve to be in the picture - biological father or not.

She's lying because she wants Christina to think that her father is a good man, not an abuser. She thinks she's sparing her daughter a lot of pain, learning that half of her comes from someone who could hurt her mother. Such a hard call. At what point, from a mother's eyes, do you think your child is old enough to learn something like that? And at what cost is keeping up the lie?
