Twins?

Did I hear right? They named the twins Corey and Carrie?

reply

No Cathy is prone to mispeaking, they are Darren and Deidre.

You're right! I just heard them say it. Thank you!

Kathy didn't misspeak. She said, "You will have all the love that Corey and Carrie should have had."

I think they were Devon and Deirdre. However, throughout the book Cathy calls them Corrie and Carrie because she wants them to be a replacement for her dead siblings.

I don't remember Cathy calling Jory's twins Carrie & Cory in the book? Jory's twins were Darren & Dierdre. I remember Cathy saying something about Darren & Dierdre something like, the next letter in the alphabet. (C twins Carrie & Cory and now D twins Darren & Dierdre). I can't remember the exact quote though..

Did you notice they had no umbilical cords, and totally healed belly buttons?

Hahaha yes!

Cathy and Christopher had twin siblings Cory and Carrie. Cory died in the first book/movie. Their Mother was trying to poison all of them with rat poison she put on sugar donuts. But Cory ate all the donuts and died while they were locked in the attic. Carrie was in the second book/movie, but I don't remember what happened to her. Since her whereabouts aren't mentioned I assume maybe she died also.

reply

Yes, Carrie died during Petals On The Wind. She put rat poison on powdered donuts and died just like her brother Cory.

In the book, Carrie felt so alone without her twin Cory, that she wanted to die just like he did and she put poison on doughnuts. It was so sad. :(

**Wasn't it arsenic that was put on the doughnuts? I'm pretty sure that's what it was in the book.**

reply

Yes. Arsenic is in rat poison.

Okay. :) I just remember them using the word "Arsenic" not "rat poison" in the books. Using the bigger words.. LOL :)

First it was the Grandmother putting poison on the doughnuts, then the Mother started doing it.

I have not actually watched all these new movies from Lifetime (but was excited to see them listed here on IMDB, PLUS "My Sweet Audrina" too!) I did see the original movie with Kristy Swanson as 'Cathy' and thought it was stupid since they killed the Mother, Corrine. It made me mad because they wouldn't be able to make more movies since Corrine was killed off. I always wondered why they did that. ??

I thought the same thing about the very first movie too. It's been probably 30 years; maybe more, since I read the books. So I can not remember certain details. Like one of the other posts saying the books use the word 'arsenic' and not "rat poison". Even the names of the 2nd set of twins...haha..maybe I should read the books again. Someone said the girl twin started eating the poison donuts on purpose so she could die. I don't remember that from the books either. Then you watch these movies and they change things and then I don't know what really happened in the books versus the movie.

Yep, that's why I was surprised to see the 3 sequels in JB's on the weekend.
I played back Flowers when I got home and discovered the ending was ambiguous.
She was left dangling when she fell from the balcony on her wedding day, but I guess it wasn't fatal after all?
