The false teacher and the fake Christians (SPOILERS)

SPOILERS.

I don't know the director's motive for these particular characters, but what can be learned from them is that there are false teachers and fake Christians in the world.

Fake Christians shouldn't be compared to real Christians due to them being two completely different sets of people.

Are they Christians at all, even if fake ones? They seemed like they could be monotheistic science fiction lovers (like you know whom) who just happen to have chosen to title their clergy as "ministers". They actually seemed like a toxic blend of Mormons, Muslims, Scientologists and Freemasons. I didn't see a single reference to a messiah let alone Jesus.
