Rural areas?

I know the first film focused on a sort of secluded upper middle class urban town and the others focused more on the city. But I wonder what about the rest of the country. The more rural and smaller town areas that don't belong to rich people. I feel like smaller towns would likely not follow with the Purge like cities would. If you live in a town of only a couple thousands where everyone depends on each other, you likely wouldn't want to go around making enemies.

We all get along and watch out for each other. We're family blood or not.

I'm from a rural area. This is silly.

I guess many villages and smaller towns would found militias (maybe even headed by the local police forces/sheriff). One half would protect the people who would wait out the night together in the community centers, a high school or some other fortificated building, maybe even errected for the purge, while other half would patrol the area to protect the property.

Maybe entire areas (like counties) will work together and form outer defense lines.

I think the general response would be most civilized areas would be heavily fortified and defended on purge night, with only the most chaotic ghettos being a free-fire zone. It would mostly be impossible to go out on the street as a purger without being shot at as a potential threat.

Lmao, the small-town conservatives would be so ready to jump on board with the Purge. I'm from a small town (4,500 people). They would view it as an excuse to get rid of those not like them.
