Anyone else noticed...

How almost so many of the women's clothing in the show is mirror imaged?

Lucy wears one cardigan where there is a variation in colour in one section, but there is so much mirror-imaging of women's clothing going on.

and wake up to hopefully not the last Twin Peaks ever.

I appreciate and accept your offering. However, i feel you are talking crazy. The finale is tonight! ?
Sweet dreams though if responsibilities call...and enjoy the finale, whenever you may watch it.

reply

Yes, the final two episodes of season 3 are being shown in several hours time in the USA but I will be long asleep by the time it is on so I watch it in the morning.

reply

Well then, enjoy your coffee and twin peaks in the morning. (If you drink tea just don't tell me)

reply

No, I haven't noticed, but I think it's an interesting observation.

reply

Can you give examples of what you mean by mirror imaged?

There's more but you should see what I mean with that lot.

reply

So you just mean they are have bilateral symmetry?
Men's suits are also symmetrical. Most clothing is.

reply

Yes, clothing is mostly symmetrical but you don't often see patterned clothes in programs. I was just pointing out there was a lot of it on the TP women.

I picked a few programs out at random and searched pictures of the characters, but symmetrical patterns are pretty rare from what I saw. Try it yourself.

reply

patterned clothes are nearly always symmetrical unless it's a t-shit with a slogan or design just on the front, then it can't be symmetrical because it wouldn't be readable.
But plaids, stripes and florals are usually symmetrical. If there are embellishments like appliques or embroidery (like Lucy's sweaters) they are also usually on both sides for balance.
But solid colored costumes are far more common in film and TV because it is less distracting.
