Questions to those not liking TP3 because of Dougie...

If season 3 had only taken a year or two to be aired and not 25, would you like the series better?

Also, would you like a season 4 with Full Cooper and no Dougie?

reply

No. The fact that it took so long makes it more of a legend.

If twin peaks were a real place, i would want a 24-7 reality show about it. The different characters will come and go, but as long as tps exists, i will be watching.

In answer to the question: no.

It's not that I don't enjoy the Dougie thing [the dream inside a dream feel of it is great]. The problem is that it extends ad nauseam.
Another thing that I feel a bit underwhelmed by is Evil Coop. There's a clear difference between the insanity Doppelganger shown on the old episodes [and FWWM] and this "cool bad guy" we are presented with. The imagery of the Doppelganger in the Lodge and his "How's Anny" was [IMHO] far more interesting than what we see now [mainly because it presented itself as the pure and raw dark side of the Coop character].

I don't see a Good Dale vs Bad Dale thing occurring by the end of this season. I'm pretty convinced at this point that either Tammy or Diane will send Bad Coop to the Lodge and not Dougie/Coop. I'm fine with it either way, but it just feels a bit underwhelming.

reply

Yeah, Bob Coop or the doppleganger is nothing like I thought he would be. I always imagined Bob Coop to be completely unhinged(like we see in the final scene or when we see both Bob and Coop together in the lodge laughing side by side)but never figured he'd be so evil in such a chill way.

reply

yeah exactly. That scene with them laughing was great. That's the Bad Coop I would like to see.

reply

I know. Not sure why Lynch and Frost chose to make Bad Coop such an ice cold villain.

reply

There are some decisions that made me scratch my head [not really complains]. Just seems "odd" that given the more "shoe string budget" approach Lynch seems fond of employing in his stuff, that in this season we see things like a vortex in the sky and the special fx when Coop went through the wall.

There was this kind of "realistic-although-surrealistic" beauty on the old Twin Peaks fx approach that kept the visuals somewhat grounded. The backwards stuff in the Lodge, the superimposition of the curtains in the forest, Bob having his arm shined on when he tried to enter the Lodge. Stuff like that made it a bit more eerie than the actual more modern fxs.

Don't take me wrong, Episode 8 was all levels of phenomenal and it used a lot of special fxs. But they complemented so dam well the more "simple" ones such as the Woodmen exiting the Convenience Store and blended so well with the thematic that I have a hard time figuring out how he could convey the same message without those more modern visuals.

reply

Yup, Tammy or Bobby, with help of Ed.

Stop underestimating uncle jerry.

reply

I want one of those baguettes with cheese that Jerry was eating. Right now.

reply

Lol who doesn't?!

reply

Actually, I don't want one anymore. I have cha siu bao from Chinese market. But I might want one tomorrow.

reply

Dougie is being drawn out way too long and it makes no sense people wouldn't notice
