Question about the soundtrack

It seems to me that one of the tracks is something about Hiroshima, but I can't find any mention of it. Is there a piece with Hiroshima in the title, or am I mistaken?

Thanks!

Lynch is borrowing from Kubrick using Penderecki.

Yes he is. If you're going to borrow, borrow from the best.

I'm going to say something that seems really pretentious, but it's not of you consider that I am a big music fan:

I thought it was pretty clichΓ© when Lynch used "Threnody" for the experimental episode with the exploding bomb. It's a really recognizable piece, and as soon as it was matched up with the bomb I actually rolled my eyes.

No that doesn't sound pretentious to me. It sounds like that was your normal reaction. We've all had that reaction to a film at one time or another. I had never heard the piece, so I did not. It was certainly an amazing scene, if not the best of all time, then certainly one of the best.

I'm still trying to figure out how Lynch did that scene/acquired that footage.

He's good. He's really good.
