Something I forgot from the original series...

Remember the top secret communication that was spouting out gibberish until one time it said Cooper Cooper Cooper? Well, now we have three Cooper's in S03, as Dougie is technically some sort of Cooper, though we still don't know exactly how he came to exist.

reply

Besides Dougie and the weirdo who left prison, who is the third Cooper? Did I miss something?

reply

Erm... Original Cooper.

reply

I really did miss something. I thought original Cooper was inside Dougie.

reply

Original Cooper was in the waiting room and he left when Dougie went in. Dougie, (we presume) died, and Original Cooper just needs to retain his memories or kill Bad Cooper.

reply

I too presumed original Dougie died when Cooper entered his body. Hence why I didn't agree with three.

reply

Dougie looks like Cooper, only fatter and Bob says he created him (we just don't know how), so somehow he is still a Cooper.

If anyone who knew Original Cooper saw a picture of him they would say that is fat Cooper. He probably has the same fingerprints and DNA.

reply

Dougie is a separate body from original Cooper, that is why when Cooper came out and took Dougie's place, he was thinner than Dougie, and Dougie's clothes were too big.
So good/original Cooper is in Dougie's life, but not in his body. Dougie's body went into the lodge and turned into a gold pearl.

Thanks.

Seems to me that Dougie is actually Dale Cooper. I don't know, but I'm guessing that he came out of the Lodge years ago in relatively good condition but presumably amnesia. Apparently he somehow got a job, married and had a child. It does seem he had a relapse, maybe because of the proximity of Bob. But he sees The Arm tell him 'Don't Die'. And when ice pick man tries to kill him he instinctively disarms the fellow and virtually twists his hand off at the behest of The Arm. I thought that would be an odd scenario.

Of course that doesn't explain who the man in the Lodge who might be Cooper also looks through the curtains and sees Bob driving down the highway. :/

Typically strange state of affairs for Twin Peaks.
