He isn't playing Truman. Some old fart name is playing him. Why why why? Oh the humanity. Of all the Twin Peaks characters I figured he'd be the first to want to come back and play Truman after 27 years. I guess I was wrong..... ?

He retired from acting years ago. Also that "old fart" is a great actor who I'm sure will do a great job.

That would take a load off my shoulders. Recasting would be horrible. What's your source? (Is it in Frost's book perhaps? Mine hasn't arrived yet.)

At first he gladly agreed to reprise his role, though. He even posted a tweeter (I think) asking for his sherif uniform. Then something must have happened because all of sudden he was out of the new show. If I remember things right someone in his family stated he was retired from acting since long or something. That was very sudden and unexpected seems he seemed so happy to come back in the new show.
