twin peaks gazette article mentions Dwayne Milford as a 20 something year old telling a story about a one-armed man at owl cave - that doesnt make sense to me - the one armed man is simply who the midget possesses, in the same way that Bob possesses Leland, so how could he be around that long ago? It would be fine if the story was of either the midget, Bob or the giant.
Exactly. The midget is the evil inside him (in the same way that Bob is the evil inside Leland) that he attempted to get rid off by cutting his arm off. We see the midget speak through Philip, the one-armed man, in FWWM, so I assumed that's what that was all about.

Yes, that and notice how the MFAP is reconnected with Mike by touching him where they were "severed," as he demands his Garmonboazia.
What's interesting is that Mike has disavowed the whole symbiotic relationship with BOB, yet there he is, wanting his share of the cream corn after a fresh killing.
He wasn't there in the meeting above the convenience store, so what's he doing with the MFAP, BOB and Leland in the Lodge?

A lot of things from that first dream scene with the midget, the one-armed mam and bob in the show makes no sense, because I think it was sloppily edited from that alternate pilot. Plans changed since then, and I think it was only when making the fwwm movie that it was decided the one armed man was possessed by the midget, and even that the midget was a bad guy in the same sense that bob was. I think the giant was left out of the movie because he's always seemed a good guy in the series, ad once the movie made all the lodge inhabitant seem sinister and evil, I guess they just didnt know hat to do with him. Before the movie, the midget always seemed neutral to me, with Bob and the giant either side
