My guess is somewhere around 30
I always thought they overdid her "activities". I know kids can be busy, but Laura managed to find time for two boyfriends, Meals on Wheels, taking drugs, tutoring Johnny Horne, getting abused by her father, being a best friend, sleeping with tons of guys, posing for a porn magazine, whoring at the brothel, etc. Then she had to make time to be murdered.

Being someone's "best friend" is largely relegated to hanging out at high school and chatting on the phone for the most part at that age.
