Carl's son is missing here (Spoilers)

This one is nice entry to the series.
More things to do for Assad is nice.
The villain was slimy and genuinely creepy.
Carl was a strong lead character as per usual.
The film was also very appealing visually.

But:
Some things that I thought were missing / lacking...
1. Carl's son. Could have been used in the plot for a stronger scene towards the end. Really felt his absence.

2. Rose practicing boxing at the beginning. I thought it was a foreshadowing for her to physically shine in the story. But with just one villain, I guess she had no place to boast her abilities. What's the point of showing her eagerness to spar with Assad?

3. The lady cop hitting on Carl. Another plot thread that went nowhere.

4. Teleporting characters. Conveniently appearing here and there for plot progression. This one I can forgive mostly in other films but here it happened way too often.

5. The importance of Trygve. He was listening to the audio in couple of scenes in this film. I was expecting his breakthrough scene where he informs the other cops of the sound he was listening to. Instead of that scene of discovery, it's just Rose making other people listen to an audio that came out of blue. No explanation. No scene with Trygve.

6. Significance of Mia (Not sure if this is the name). The girl friend of Johannes (the villain). Who was she? Hmm? Oh, she's dead? Okay then...

7. Johannes's sister. Hmmm? So you just betray your brother like that? Okay... It didn't help that Assad talked to her and proceeded onto teleporting to where Carl was.

These don't mean I wasn't entertained by this film.
I was, but in retrospect it could have been more solid.
I think the second film is the best in the series.

And I missed Cat.

Yes, and big plot-hole regarding Trygve being found... Found how? By who? With what clues? Not reported?

Poor writing.
