Does anyone know about detectorist etiquette? - spoilers

I know proceeds have to be shared with landowners, but if detectorists find gold or something precious, do they share the proceeds with their detectorist partner?
Will Lance share with Andy, do you think? I hope so and I hope they give Sophie a bit too, since she marked the spot, so to speak.

Depends on the country and the group. In the UK, a find like Andy made in Ep 4 (gold coin) would have to be turned into the government, if I recall correctly. In Canada, as well, any precious stones or metals found "not in their natural state" become the property of the government, in accordance with the treasure trove laws.

That said, I don't know about the UK, but that's not really enforced in Canada with the exception of large finds, usually aboard sunken vessels.

If I had a long time detecting partner like Andy and LAnce, I would probably expect a sharing of finds. If I was detecting with someone once or twice, probably would keep it myself.

It was the 'Finder's Fee' which I was wondering about.
I know that in the UK 'detectorists' have to have permission from the landowner and all profits from finds are split 50/50.
I suppose that if you have a regular partner, you would work together and agree to split the profits. At least, that's how Bingo works with the older generation (in my neck of the woods)! - Not the same, I know, but you get my drift.

It's all done on the 'Handshake' rule.
