Heroin Addiction

Is it even possible to do hard drugs and train regularly at the same time? I never did heroin but some friends/former addicts not once told me of how you become indifferent to anything except the drug.

Also if you do not use it regularly all the wonders of withdrawal are your friends. We really do not see this in the movie: Billy gets arrested, uses only sporadically but is able to move around, do things, look after himself and not just lay down cold turkey.

Some parts of the movie are skipped over, he does goes through withdrawal but its not all shown. When he starts boxing he is clean and only has a small fall back when he finds out his 'girlfriend' is seeing other prisoners.

But he was an addict and at the same time a boxer even before the prison... We see him training those boys, having some stash in his room, admitting he's a boxer right after getting into prison etc. I was somewhat confused: if someone uses heroin he's mostly not interested in other activities at all ((

"small fall back" he shoulda been pulled off the team after that stunt.

I think they realised it was for a good reason, it would have killed him being thrown off the team.

I thought he was a meth addict. He had some heroin in the prison to soften meth withdrawals. After he beat the Muslims in the kitchen he decided to go cold turkey. There is a scene showing him having a hard time by cutting his wrist.
