Suffers from a common issue

While well acted and directed the film suffers from a much too common issue in film today, no likable characters.

Each of the protagonists is selfish out for themselves. Even Mia who cares more for her lovers brother than he does is only with said lover because he puts a roof over her head. He could be anyone.

Our lead, Finn, while in flashbacks we see why he is how he is, is nonetheless a bully and a petty thief. Oh and a destroyer of personal property.

It made it very hard to feel sympathy for him or his equally abhorrent school pal when they are abducted and tortured. I was actually hoping for more torture as I did not think Finn was quite understanding why it was all happening to him.

I feel different. I very much liked both Fin and Mr. Gale, sure they had their flaws (Gale more so) but very early on it was clear that Fin was not a bad guy really. Mr. Gale was deeply tormented but he had true passion for good and valuable things. He just broke.

I really can't see what a likable character for would be.

A nice flick, 6,5, so wish we could rate half stars here.

what a load of BS
So they just walked away, Fin full of holes and leaving 100s of fingerprints and led their lives together, grew up into a sweet loving couple who had 2 kids

how great would it have been if the "protagonist" would have been put away for both murders at the end of it?
