Was this a skinhead venue or an all ages venue run by DL skinheads?
So there were a lot of very quick plot points that were under-explained so I was having trouble following them all on a first watch. But one thing that I started wondering was whether or not this was an actual skinhead venue, or an all ages punk venue run by skinheads on the dl.
1. The guy who hooked them up downplayed their nazism if you ask me. Described them as right wing, but not really nazis. If the venue itself isn't an outwardly nazi establishment, he probably figured the show would be fine.
2. There was the fact that nobody attacked them over the song they chose to play to antagonize them. I could see that happening at an all ages venue. The skinheads who are the muscle behind the operation being aware that they need to keep their beliefs more low key and ignore stuff like this for the good of the front (the venue being a front for their drug operation).
3. All the upper management were pretty normal looking guys. They weren't outwardly racist and didn't wear the signature boots. Of course Patrick Stewart said some very racist lines very casually, but he presented himself as a respectable business man.
4. The way Patrick Stewart talked to the audience when they shut the show down. Seemed to me like he was talking to children. It reminded me of shows at the YMCA, when an old guy comes out and talks to all the teens there.
Anyone else get this idea?
