Finally saw it
Ok I finally saw the film.
Just ugh.
Blake Lively is gorgeous, I will not deny that, but that was the selling point for the movie nothing more. Same concept of selling House of Wax where is was heavily advertised of watching Paris Hilton die.
Anyway, my issues started instantly as soon as she saw the whale carcass. IF you ever see a whale carcass close enough to short of land mass you GET AWAY FROM IT period you go to shore. That is a homing beacon for sharks. I had a serious problem with the shark being that uber-intelligent to know where she is even when not in the water. I had a problem with the shark purposely ramming the carcass, knowing she was there, and sending her into the water. I had a problem with the shark knowing she was on the rocks and trying to go after her there. I had a problem with the jellyfish lighting up THAT much, NO just seriously NO. I had a serious problem with the shark knowing so easily she was on the buoy. I had a problem with the shark knowing to dive under the surface to avoid the fires. I had a problem with the shark chasing after her that easily when she is heading towards the ocean bottom, and then the shark dies.
My issues with this film were countless. My issues were just also for the fact I study sharks and work with marine life so seeing all of this just annoyed the heck out of me. I couldn't even enjoy it for being a stupid, mindless movie because of how crappy the script was.
I can say I saw it, won't see it again. Obviously, the script was so bad the selling point was just Lively in a bikini and looking sexy through it all. I guess the writer/director/producer yadda yadda knew the movie was crap.
