I've only seen the trailers for this new show and it doesn't look very appealing.
perhaps that's why I don't generally watch trailers. I thoroughly enjoyed the earlier series and I feel like the current one is probably one of the two best shows I'm currently watching.

Totally mis-cast.
The 2010-2012 series starring Stephen Mangan http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2303367/ while not entirely faithful to the original books, was so much closer to the spirit of Adams.
Imho they turned dirk to much into the doctor

I watched the first episode of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, then found online and watched the first episode of Dirk Gently. I thoroughly enjoyed both versions. Just finished watching ep. 2 of DGHDA - really good! - and now I'm going to watch ep. 2 of Dirk Gently. Both are quite good so far.
