Scene on the bridge with the Corgi

I've been catching up on episodes, trying to figure out what the heck is going on (and liking it). I just got to the scene on the bridge with the Corgi and that was awesome.

We're definitely working our way backwards, which makes sense considering the book it was based on.I wonder if we'll ever find out why the writers replaced Richard MacDuff with a guy named Todd.
I'd really like to see a combination of this story but using the characters and actors from the previous version.

Max Landis (Showrunner/writer) has said that he ditched all of the characters other than Dirk as well as the plots of the books because you could never make a direct adaptation of Douglas Adams' work and have it be the same quality. It would forever fail in comparison. Look at the abysmal Hitchhiker's Guide movie. I get more enjoyment out of one chapter of the book than I do that entire movie. Whereas I can honestly say I'm enjoying this show as much as I did the books, even if Dirk isn't exactly the Dirk of the books.

tl;dr he wanted the show to be it's own beast. Wouldn't be nearly as fun if we knew how this mystery was going to end, right?
