Time machine

The old guy, who is inhabited by the spirit of Lux, wants the time machine to get back into his rock star body. He either can't go back to another body on his own, or he simply doesn't know where the body is

If he were to succeed in going back in time, he'd have enough time to prevent the black wing project too, effectively allowing Bart to become semi-normal albeit hypersensitive person, but definitely disinterested in killing Dirk...

And keeping up with a 3?1! theme, it would also "save her", as in, not Lydia, but Lydia's mom

Well, if that was the case, why was he so upset when the radio reported that Lux's body was found? I simply thought that his anger was because he hated the fact that his rocker life was stolen from him, not that it had anything to do with time travel. The truth is, we don't know anything yet about these body-switching Souls, or the Rowdy 3. The Souls can switch bodies, the Rowdy 3 can do... whatever it is that they do ("It's complicated," as Dirk puts it). But people such as myself that are unfamiliar with the source material still have no clue what's going on.

I have no enemies, but am intensely disliked by my friends.

We know time travel is involved for a fact, cause Todd in a white fur coat yelled it at Dirk, who was out of the sight, when the current Todd's elevator stopped at 18 floor for a brief moment in episode 1.

I suspect that anyone would upset to hear they are dead, even if they are currently inhabiting different body, but it's hard to tell.

This is highly unrelated to the source book, so it's not just you, it's everyone.

Schrodinger's cat walks into a bar and doesn't.

No... he doesn't know anything beyond the soul swapping part. He just wanted to be the one in control of the cult just out of spite, if he can't stay the Rock Star... he might as well be the boss.

He can't get back to Lux body (which wasn't his original identity) anyway... the body has long decompose.

No, he doesn't. Lux' body is dead. He wants to take over the cult and move them in an actually ambitious direction.

Not possible according to the rules of time travel used in this story. The timeline is fixed. Nothing any time traveler does in the past will alter the way events played out.
