Pararibulitis "theory"

Okay, I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought this, but does anyone else get the impression that Amanda and Dirk's pararibulitis is actually a psychic thing rather than a mental illness? Note that when the "psychic vampires" feed on her, the hallucinations go away.

We know that there are at least 30 special individuals cataloged by Col. Scott Riggins, but it's a big world. It's entirely possible there are more they didn't find. There must be something more to it than a simple hallucination disorder, since there's really no reason to include a fake medical condition if it's never going to factor into the plot.

Curious if anyone else had similar thoughts. It just feels like there's more to this condition than we've been lead to believe thus far.

I thought so, too. If all things are related and people are gravitating to who and where they need to, then Todd and Amanda are being drawn to exactly where they need to be. The first time the guys sucked her extra energy, Amanda had a vision of TV screens, maybe both her and Todd will learn how to harness or control the power.
