I watched Season 1 and 2 and now catching up on 3 and 4..... but when did all these thousands if not millions of aliens from other planets show up on Supergirl's Earth?

And if there are some many capable of intergalactic travel, why hasn't Earth benefited from this technology and become space-faring?
