Spoiler- the pilot

What would the repercussion be for taking off without proper authorization from the tower? Would he simply be fired? Go to jail? Or do you think their is away he could possibly get away without facing any punishment for his actions?

I believe the punishment ranges from a simple warning to the loss of their flying license.

But I guarantee you he'd never go to Chile again because if he stepped off the plain he would "disappear"

Lol!!

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

In this particular context there would be no repercussions at all since Chile would deny attempting to prevent him from leaving and the German and American governments would not want to add fuel to the story by taking any retribution against the pilot (who didn't really know what he was doing and was pretty much innocent anyway).

I enjoyed the film but i have say that scene with the plane was beyond stupid. It should have ended with them escaping from the camp.

You were right to enjoy the film but as for crapping on the escape it wasn't way over the top. All they did was run and take a baggage cart vehicle and drive it to the plane they knew was out there. How is that stupid? Also ending it at the camp would have left people wondering how the heck they got out of that country when the government was working to protect that cult due to various reasons/arrangements. It would have been too open of an ending to just end it with them escaping from just the camp.

Agreed. If it simply ended with them escaping the camp, I think most people would be saying that there had better be a sequel in the works showing their harrowing escape out of Chile. They were German citizens (West German citizens actually. Or, I assume so.) and wouldn't be safe until they were back in West Germany.

Schaefer wasn't going to let them go without a fight. Especially not once he found out that Daniel hadnt actually suffered brain damage from the shock "treatment" and that he'd been pretending all along. Lena and Daniel were too much of a liability and a threat to just let them go once they'd escaped the compound.
