Toward the end, right after Lena smacks Gisela with the pole, Paul and his men immediately start looking for Lena and Daniel. They thought that the man Daniel was working for took the pictures, but they start looking for them too quickly. What tipped them off that it was them they should be chasing and not questioning the other guy? I rewinded it to see if I could catch anything, but nothing jumped out at me. Any ideas?

shareUncle bernd who they were interrogating must have made the argument that "retarded"(quote from the movie I do not mean any disrespect) hanz "found" them hidden in a folder in a locked shed and that he actually took them and knew to come in and claim that he found them at the perfect time to save Lena. So they know and are working together, and when they found Gisela knocked out after all three just left they knew what had happened and started looking.
