An Outstanding piece of work
It won't appeal to everyone, the subject matter, the POV, some disturbing scenes and implications will keep its IMDB rating down but it is an LVT master work. There is so much going on and many ideas and thoughts to contemplate; murder as art, post life as art, art history, the interesting parallels between the life work of LVT (many references to past work here)and Jack's attempts to build a house.
He left so many clues, he would not have been able to complete this "life work" in today's forensic environment and hence another interesting theme was his growing confidence, the greater risk taking, the thought that this was divine intervention and related remission of his OCD - an illusion to the life of the artist?
Dillon and Ganz (RIP) are fantastic.
