While they are richer for it i can see why they want to put that time in their lives far behind them.

Even a cameo on Fuller house would bring world attention and i don't believe that's the type of attention that they want anymore.

No, they don't owe it to you or me or the fans. They were employed by the show. And even if everything they got afterwards were all thanks to the show, the fashion empire and the billions of dollars, doesn't mean they are obligated to make an appearance. They have grown up and moved on. They worked a lot when they were young in entertainment and probably had a lot of people employed under them dependent on them for their own lives and income. It seems like they both have negative reactions to being in that same kind of spotlight, and even Ashley has talked about her anxiety. So actually, the fans are being selfish to think that they are owed something.

In all honesty I don't think they are. Sometimes it's actually kind of cool when some of the characters don't appear in the reboot and they can give some sort of off the cuff reason for them being gone. In all honesty it works nicely as now I can watch the cast poke fun at them in some of the episodes ;)

I don't think they are being selfish at all. They have not acted or been in the spotlight for years, so why would they want to now? They have successful careers and are still busy. Also considering their young age when the show finished, I'm fairly certain they don't have nearly the same sentiment for it as the rest of the cast. I also don't miss the Michelle character at all. Apparently the original idea was for the 3 daughters to be involved, but the show works better with Kimmy because she acts as the Joey replacement. I think even if the Olsen's made an appearance it'd probably be a letdown since they aren't really interested. The other cast members seem to have a real enthusiasm for being involved which shows through. The Olsen's would probably just look uncomfortable. I think Bob Saget already seems more like acting as Bob than Danny (and Bob was notorious for kind of hating the show but I guess came around on it now), but the rest of the cast seems truer to their original characters. I just have a hard time feeling the Olsen's would be believable and I also question how they'd have Michelle act now. They've done a pretty crappy job with the young adult twins Alex and Nicky if you ask me. I think the passing references work, although I'd prefer no more jabs at the twins.

Additionally, the Olsen's do not seem fond of the public light and attention. I've read one has anxiety, so appearing on Fuller House really isn't going to help. Mary-Kate had the public anorexia issues. I am sure they just don't want any of that public scrutiny anymore. I'm sure some of the press would just hound them far more if they did make an appearance. Everyone would continue calling them selfish for not making as many appearances as some of the other original cast members. I think people need to just let it go that they won't be on. I wouldn't even care if they recast Michelle and had her briefly pop up from time to time like Danny, Jesse, Joey, etc. Considering the last time we saw Michelle she was still a child, I don't think it'd be that big of a deal to cast someone new.

I personally think all the backlash they get for not returning is what comes off as selfish. They were put on this show as infants, before they could ever have a say in whether or not they wanted to do it. As they've gotten older and have actually had a say in their lives, it's become clearer and clearer that acting isn't something they want to do anymore, especially in Ashley's case. It's not like they're refusing to do the show for a bunch of other acting projects - they just don't act anymore. Why shouldn't they have that choice when they never (or barely) did in the first place?

I honestly don't miss them. The show isn't about them anymore, and I can't say I'm sad about that. They had their time, and hopefully it was a good time for them, as I'm sure the amount of work they did was exhausting. But now, a joke here and there adds to the new show, and there is room for other characters. I enjoy the cameos very much, but don't feel the need for them to be in every episode either.

They never asked to be on TV and were put on Full House before they were even old enough to decide whether or not they even wanted to do it. Why should they feel obligated to take time out of their schedule to do this if they don't want to? They're adults with careers that they're committed to.
