It's a dark gritty Christian drama.

I'm an atheist but I love this show. I hope all Christian movies will be like this in the coming years.

You're joking, right? I wouldn't call this a Christian show.

Hipster Christianity, lol

What are they doing? Why do they come here?
Some kind of instinct, memory, what they used to do.

This is exactly the opposite of a Christian movie. It's about the fakery of faith.
A psycho. A con-man. An Insane judge. Not exactly the kind of people who make for good religion.

I disagree, the bible is full of characters like that.

This is definitely not a faith-based show. Those are shows that sacrifice story-telling in favor of being faith affirming, some call that preaching to the choir. Those are boring as hell if you are not a true believer.

Faith-based stories are not the only kind of religious story. They get a lot of prominence because they are so popular with the born-again crowd and they are so tediously dull for anyone else to watch. But they aren't the only kind. Denzel Washington's "Book of Eli" is an example of a dark and gritty christian story that strictly avoided preaching to the choir. Lord of the Rings and the Chronicles of Narnia are too (the later being a bit more blunt than the former).
