Reverend Paul Curtis - Julian Morris accent slips

So I knew Julian Morris was British because his accent (dialect, whatever) keeps slipping from that semi-Southern Baptist Americana, to his native UK English. I can't believe the producers didn't catch that and do sweetening - it wouldn't have taken long, so this is really sloppy. That being said, it's just a dumb TV show (but one I really enjoy! Ron Perlman and Dana Delaney make a great power couple).

I am only a few episodes into the show but I noticed a slip where Reverend Paul said something and definitely sounded British. Yep, it might be a flaw in the acting, but could it be intentional? Reverend Paul (nee Oliver Someone) was previously an actor so perhaps his character (man of the cloth/con man) is just acting/pretending to be American. A possibility, no?

That was my first thought, too. I'm not sure we should automatically assume it is a mistake made by the actor/director but maybe an intentional slip made to to make us even more unsure of the character.
