Dear Americans,do you know?

do you know that this place in America is named after LEITH Scotland, the port of Edinburgh (the most beautiful city in Europe?)

Would love to see white power guys in Leith Scotland,it would be hospital time.

No guns on public display on the Forth. I would give them about 3 minutes before they required intensive care beds at Western General.

Personally, I'd love to see it too, because that would mean he's not here anymore. But let's be honest; racial diversity isn't really one of Scotland's main selling points:

96.0% White
2.7% Asian
0.7% Black
0.4% Mixed
0.2% Arab
0.1% other

Not picking a fight, merely making an observation. Besides, I'd be curious how the NHS handles a case of "constipation due to caber impaction".

I think lack of racial diversity is one of Scotland's selling points for some people who choose to move here (I am a native),some of the people who move here would never admit that but I think it is true.

I am certainly not saying that racism is not a problem in Scotland,it certainly is but many Scots pretend we are more progressive than we actually are (see sectarian education system for example).
So I think the white power people would get a kicking due to Scottish self deception.

I think that some areas of Scotland have the majority of non white residents, the cities especially Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The stats you show are interesting but I think must be out of date.

I was born in Edinburgh in 1960 and growing up the only non white people you saw were african medical students or trainee Church of Scotland ministers, but by 1970 there were some asians and there were always a few chinese.
When I was at school in the 1970s we had 2 asian kids and a Spaniard.

In the last 20 years we have arabs and west indians in numbers we never used to see.

See the problem with this movie is that the town of Leith, ND only has around 20 people before the douchebags rolled in. There are more people passing through Leith, Scotland in a minute than are people living in Leith in a year. Nobody, not even people in ND, care about some white supremacist setting up shop in some stretch of dirt in ND. A place with around 20 people can't even be called a town. It's just a stretch of dirt.

These guys and the reviewers overhyped the situation. "A town under siege." they said. 20 hillbillies under siege from around 20 other hillbillies? Who cares? Let the guy move in there. Ignore him and all his racist ramblings. If he doesn't freeze his nuts off due to the lack of physical female contact (there are no women in that town, what are they gonna do when they wanna get freaky?), he's gonna die of boredom.

If the town was like the original Leith with thousands or people, or even just 100 people, that would be interesting. But some douche wanting to take over a town with 20 people is overhyped nonsense. These New Yorkers who made this movie overhyped their "documentary" in order to break into the film industry. They are smart to choose a popular subject and hype it to the hills. But I wasn't fooled.

I kind of love how you're all over this board commenting on every single thing about how irrelevant this movie is and how little you care about it.

reply

All over this board? There are only 8 threads so far. I've only commented in 5 of them. If the thread had dozens of pages, I could understand your comment. But only commenting in 5 threads, none of which have more than 10 replies so far, is not a big thing.

I actually originally thought this WAS about Leith in Scotland - that's why I recorded it as I'm a huge fan of Ian Rankin and especially Irvine Welsh, so it seemed very possible that this would be set in Leith, Scotland, as there are definitely quite a few ruffians there :-)
And no, I dare say most American do NOT know that the original Leith is in Scotland. And while I agree that Edinburgh is very beautiful, I would not say that it's Europe's most beautiful city, but that's a different matter :-)

well we do have a lot of beautiful streets in Edinburgh,I like Vienna and Ghent, and Paris as well.

This film is on sale in shops in Edinburgh and I bet people buy it and am surprised it is actually about an American town.
