They did surprisingly well last year during a time where other shows have stopped for the mid year and yet they are still putting it on the weekend which isnt a good slot for most shows. I don't understand the thinkng behind this.
The same goes for Dark Matter.

Didn't you make this exact thread over on the Dark Matter board? Space and Syfy haven't changed the date for either show. Both are airing on Friday's like they did last year, just starting July 1 rather than mid-June.
shareWhy not? Not everybody is a drunken idiot and needs to go party and blow a bunch of money on disgusting drinks and then vomit all over themselves like the morons they are. Some find entertainment in other ways and don't have to alter their minds to have fun as most losers do.

shareWith so many people having DVR cable/satellite boxes, the timeslot doesn't mean as much as it used to. They always used to put their shows on "SciFi Friday", before sillying up their channel name.
I wish they hadn't cancelled Defiance, though. Its plot arcs were mediocre, but a lot of the characters were really entertaining.
I was surprised that it premiered on a long holiday weekend myself. I'm guessing the ratings won't be so great, but I'm not sure how many people watch in "real time" anymore and if it really matters.
