The Perils of Team Badass

Is there an overarching villain the team is supposed to tackle? Or are we to see them go from one independent mini-boss to another the rest of the series?

In the cast interviews for this season Rob Stewart, who plays Khlyen, did indicate that a central villan/antagonist is being introduced. If I'm remembering correctly I believe it is a woman he described as "profoundly evil".

There have been some hints already that there is someone that Khlyen is afraid of, I'm assuming that she is it. Don't know when they plan to introduce her though.

What I like about this show is that even though there is a "case of the week" the continuity is very strong. So everything they encounter is mentioned again. So I'm sure the Factory and Clara ect. will all be tied in again before the end of the season. (:

I don't mind the RAC warrant of the week. Person of Interest being a good example.

Here, Jelco acts and behaves as if he doesn't serve a higher-up. He is just getting his sadistic jollies. And he is not concerned about consequences from a powerful adversary, like the one Khlyen is very worried about. This independence takes a viewer out of the looming threat and into a vacuum, a virtual sandbox.
