What is with all the toxic "Girl Power" music?

It shrieks "lesbian feminist".

I looked at show runner's Michelle Lovretta interviews. She seems to be quite sane with no overt signs of Third Wave (toxic) Feminism. Her goals seem quite admirable. She is the first to admit that being a women gives her no real advantage over building strong female characters when men have been doing just as good for years.

At least in Lost Girl her goal was LESS catiness and back stabbing between women and MORE camaraderie, which aligned with her personal goals. Again, VERY admirable.
I approve of that even thought the show did not interest me that much. Was it too fem-centric? IDK. I did not try to analyze. I tried to watch several episodes and just was not very interested.

So, what is this objectionable sound track and sound bytes of these toxic FemiNazi like songs doing in Sci-Fi? I find the show to be quite good. I like all the characters. Well, the actress who plays Dutch doesnt sell well as an action hero with what she brings (including her hair extensions). I try and over look all that..because of the other positive aspects of the series(so far).

But the MUSIC is just toxic. I find it VERY distracting. Anyone else?
Is Radar by the Toxic Twins the new wave of Sci-Fi scene musinc opener? If it is, I cant say that I like it. I dont see this anywhere else..thank God.

I notice the video got high marks from all the children for it's use in the show. So, I must be alone here. So be it. I just had to voice my opinion. Not that it will change a THING. Oh, well...

I closing, have to say, I DO like the over all theme in Killjoys of friendship loyalty and "leave no man or woman behind." I dont know who cant appreciate that.
I just wish to God, they would loose the toxic tunes.

I was hoping the music would change for season 2.

"Each ending is merely a new beginning."

I feel like the music has completely changed. I haven't heard a single girl power song yet.

The first episode had. Second didn't.

It shrieks indeed. It shrieks crazy and terminally insecure nonsense, and it will be put on my ignore list as a result. Talk about being toxic.

Bravo! It is a shame there are so many misogynists still existing who are so simple and close minded when it comes to women.

I guess ones like him would rather live in a world where women are rarely seen and never heard. I can think of a few places where that lifestyle exists, if he is so inclined.

lol it's a toxic girl power show. kind of a package deal.

"I said no camels, that's five camels, can't you count?"

I thought Radar was a pretty cool track, what exactly about it screams "toxic girl power feminazi"? Female vocals?

I do agree that the music is, at times, a bit... much, though. Some times it distracts from rather than adds to the scenes.

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
