Johnny 'in love' with Potter.

Does anyone else have the hardest time listening to that line?

Seriously, talk about not your match. Sigh

I think they need to keep the actress' contract going, has to be the REAL reason.

Dating your kid brother is probably a weird no-no... I wouldn't try to push that notion writers... anyway...

Alvis and Dutch do work, that they did one right.... we do get to see more of Alvis. Literally...

It makes sense as they both want to help people and both have the same aims so hes drawn to her

I find it odd that hes so drawn to her after she took advantage of his very broken brother , then carried on to get what she wanted from him, and then made D'av out to be the bad guy, she was in the middle of treating him and then seduced him, and carried on trying to emotionally black mail him into her bed

Which is how Sabine hooked up with Davin, I didn't like it then either, Six or not.

I understand 'Pawter' has philanthropist like plot lines now but there are tons of people who are drawn to the same line of work, yet recognize how their relation to one another is defined. Friend, co-worker, acquaintance, boyfriend material, etc etc.

With the way Johnny's always on and about (younger sibling type typical behavior - where his insecurities seem to stem from), and gets so excited so easily like a gadget/adventure happy person he is... I mean seriously, Pawter's on a different level at this point. Always taking herself so seriously and with all these responsibilities.. I doubt very much, romantically anything would 'feel' 'normal' about this either way... it seems forced. Like I was watching two friends make out for the hell of it.. She down right now, perhaps the 'show's' way of incorporating someone to balance her out... but geez, Johnny's a little kid.. "Looks like an angry vagina."

I mean when someone you know goes on with one-liners such as this, you gotta figure, while you value them, there's a bit of an unfocused mind/a childishness - an incompatibility if you will. I suppose Pawter's character is seemingly more relatable these days, but she's been like this since Day 1. Davin wasn't quite her match either, you pick up on this when she 'scores' medicine the way she did Day 1.

Anyway, I really think this show just needs to keep her around - vs on the hook for fewer episodes.. but *cringe*... this Johnny in love thing... they gotta break these two up, my stomach is like ..

I dont find her relateable at all, shes rich, a drug addict who bribed and seduces people to do her bidding, I half expect her to have seduced Johnny just to get his help

Both brothers are a bit childish but they had horrid childhoods, so its expected

Johnny should be with the gadget girl from ep 1

reply

I expect him to be somewhat childish, he's the younger of them both, and would seem Davin shielded him from a few things that older siblings may do in that environment.

And I did think she initiated some murky waters with him. She must have realized there was a high probability of danger, him going solo on these 'missions,', if in fact he was partially motivated by her (I found the virtual sex leading). They're dealing with all the big players here, he needs to at least update Dutch. Either way she contributed to putting Johnny's relationship with Dutch at risk, teamwork is everything (in addition to risking their license, apparently). The pot calling the kettle black, didn't he berate Dutch for this B.s. last* season over Davin? Frankly, I find it odd that a 30 year old something doesn't know any better. I find it entirely plausible that she was 'impassioned' (or reckless, if you will) perhaps in her college days. She's not in love with him, and he is claiming to be already... weird.

Ugh, ok, I digress, I think I'm just dreading how this so-called love fest will drag on... the show is much better without relationships...actually, Alvin seems to work.

That's funny btw, I find his wife actually resembles the gadget girl a bit at first glance. I did think they had some natural chemistry. She was more down to earth - and tech interested at least. Seeing as how Johnny is so into his sh**, they connected better.

Potter is basically Dutch + sex. Unusual, strong/powerful on outside, but all broken inside and in need of the rescue. Johnny has a type. And it's their similarity that's driving Dutch's jealousy and possessiveness.

reply

Really? You think that Potter and Dutch are similar? I don't see it.

reply

wow.. I don't see it either... They may be on the same side but

Dutch is *highly competent - an over-acheiver if you will. I don't find her to be broken. Much of the reason she hadn't pursued a relationship is because she works from warrant to warrant. Emotionally, she seems to express herself just fine w/Alvis. I don't think she dated anyone because they probably just don't measure up. At least Alvis comes across an otherwise nurturing guy. She doesn't have trust issues with him. While Khylen hurt her, he added to her mental, physical, and emotional strength. She is just resentful as she could have been a normal young female adult... But I think she's excellent/superior at coping.

And her loyalty is one of a kind - no doubt a response to the traumatic childhood. She values the weak. Whereas we have* seen Pawter take advantage of weakness (when it is inappropriate) when she has been told "no," romantically rejected or feels insecure. Despite her parents being quite cruel, she caters to their egos and/or forgives her father's passivity. She must value their apprenticeship, money, or power enough to do so. Dutch would have walked right on OUT. IMO, Pawter fits in with the political structure, she's broken to some degree, but not quite so delicate and could definitely hurt the wrong people out of her own self-involved perspective. Not so sure she's quite the 'Madonna' for that messiah complex she seemed to exude in the past few episodes...

I think Johnny's in it for 'the sex' and attributing sudden deep love due to lack of experience, he's pretty eager to for attention, any connection though I would say..

Edit... I watched the prior episode after posting.
