Landlord, Death Lord
Are we supposed to feel sorry for this annoying, bratty couple? The wife's voice alone makes the hammering sound like a symphony. I get these stories have to have a villain, but these 2 hall monitors are annoying as hell.

shareOk ok I wrote this before watching the end. The guy was a bastard, but they just really annoyed me in the beginning.
shareYeah I hate living in a neighborhood with people like them who are always "Oh you can't do that, you can't do this" Seriously STFU! That couple reminded me of these people who moved into our neighborhood and reported this nice lady who ran an in home day care and while yes it was against the rules of the HOA, everyone liked her and let it go especially since some of their own kids went there. With the exception of a ball being bounced in their grass every now and then the lady or the kids she kept weren't doing anything wrong, but they were just being jerks like these people were! Yes the guy was wrong too but I don't think he would have went ape crap if they hadn't of started it. However I think her voice is probably due to her injuries.

How was this couple acting bratty (@susanandgod) or start the mess that ensued? It was obvious that the older guy neighbor acted like lord of not only his domain, but the neighborhood. He had the nerve to complain about smoke from their barbecue. As for the couple bringing up issues when the neighbor wasn't following the rules, again, I fail to see how they were in the wrong. The guy was renting out space to criminals and other undesirables just to make money. He didn't care who he rented to. And what were the results? His boarders began committing crimes and victimizing the other homeowners. The police had to be called on numerous occasions due to their unruly, dysfunctional, and criminal behaviors. Many people move into HOA community because they like the idea of the rules and how the rules help protect their investment and keep their neighborhoods safer.
Personally, I get pissed when a person buys/rents a home in an HOA (I've lived in a couple),but figure they'll do whatever they want to do anyway. "DON'T BUY OR MOVE INTO THE NEIGHBORHOOD!" is my message to them. Just like the neighbor on the show, I've heard the "I wasn't told there was an HOA when I bought it", or "It wasn't in my contract" stories. Bull.
That nice little old lady babysitting in your neighborhood may not have been hurting anyone, but if she's allowed to run a business then what do you say to the next person who wants to run a perfectly legit and harmless business, but one you personally object to?
I've recently moved into an HOA (is temporary) in which several homes are actually businesses taking care of the mentally disabled/impaired. It's, of course, not allowed. Neighbors (including myself) have complained because a couple of the mentally disabled patients/residents act up every so often. They're outside using profanity and cursing out the staff because they're upset about something. One guy sometimes will day how he'll "kill that mo@$#!f&#$er and he'll stand outside and beat on the windows and door. I can hear all of this INSIDE my home. Who wants that? It makes me fearful sometimes. In addition, there are, of course, children who live in this neighborhood. The HOA management company informed us that people are running the same type of business in homes in another community they're managing. Residents in that community have called to complain about the disabled people talking violently and acting out there too.
I know this is different from your sweet old lady, but again, rules need to be enforced equally. The older neighbor in this episode just wanted to do things his way. Well, then he shouldn't have purchased a home (that he couldn't afford) in an HOA.
He was going to offer to board registered sex offenders on probation. In a neighborhood where people are trying to raise children. No, just absolutely NO!
shareSorry but they were just being tattle tales, and sorry to be callous but like they say "Snitches get stitches" I bet they won't run and tell on anyone else like a five year old.
If someone is running a business I object to, as long as they aren't being disrespectful then it's not any of my business.

You really love the criminal element, huh?
shareWell it makes for a good show but of course in reality I don't love it. I just think people should mind their own business. Seriously most of the people in this show need to listen to this song called "The Trailer Song" by Kacey Musgraves and act like their neighbor is singing everything in that song to them and then do it.

I think they came across as bratty because the show only focused on the going on and on about their complaints, some things were legitimate and others were a little dumb. The husband going outside to speak to his neighbour the first time he was outside hammering in the morning was stupid. Like, really? Cut the guy some slack, everyone has to do home renos in the morning once and a while. However, running a noisy shed in your backyard everyday the spews crap all over the place is not something that anyone would want to live beside, so I don't blame them for complaining especially when it was clearly against the neighbourhood rules. The guy clearly had bad taste in tenants as well, so I can't blame them for complaining about that. It's one thing to have nice decent tenants, it another to have terrors.
I agree the wife was a little painful to listen to, but considering her face was shot up she seemed to be doing great. I wonder if those injuries have anything to do with the way she speaks.
