Because how come one side can't be big enough to pull in their horns and just say sorry and move on? Like the guy who shot the other guys dog, (lies, lawns and murder) that was wrong. If maybe one side could be the bigger person or people and just forgive and forget before things get out of control?
I disagree. I don't think both sides have been in the wrong on every episode. For example, in the recent episode with the couple that moved into the home in the HOA community. What did they do that was wrong? They purchased a home in an HOA for a reason. Some people think that the couple should have minded their own business and allowed their neighbor to do things as he pleased, but I disagree. Many people like HOA communities for a reason - the rules. Rules that help to prevent people making bad (and ignorant) choices that affect the community (presentation, value, safety). Their neighbor was renting out rooms in his home as though he was running a boarding house;and to people who were criminals and in turn began victimizing other homeowners. That couple simply wanted the rules followed. What did they have to apologize for?
Yes, on quite a few shows one person or side did NOTHING wrong. Like the Donna/Pipe bomb episode. The lady, Donna, had severe psychological problems and started out by just going next door (her old house BTW) and doing whatever she felt like with her new neighbor's plants...like it was still her house. She was so crazy she ended up even putting her own brother on her hit list. Of course, she ended up blowing herself up.]It all started over the neighbor planting some small plants. And I've seen some episodes were one DID try to apologize but to no avail or in one case, they wouldn't even open the door. ]He ended up killing the guy. And all the allegations the killer made turned out to be false and what damage was done was by himself and the cameras proved it.]He also had mental issues. The ones that don't have mental issues usually IMHO are older, successful people, that aren't used to not getting their way. Entitlement issues. And he ended up murdering his neighbor and innocent wife in cold blood, thank god she dialed 911 and you heard him saying "time to go to hell." Course, he didn't know this and he told the cops how scared he was, etc...that call blew his defense as did the forensics. You could make a spin-off of this show called Fear Thy Neighbor : Grump Old Men.

I think the show tries a little too hard to make both sides seem equally wrong. For example, in tonight's episode, the story makes it sound as though the dad snapped and was a violent man. Yeah, he killed a man and yeah, he needed to do time for it. But he wouldn't have been that way if the three little monsters down the street hadn't bullied his son, stolen his son's property, and trashed his house twice. And their parents did nothing.
Plus, the cops were completely useless. They knew these kids were juvenile delinquents (I have a sneaking suspicion the one brother they interviewed, who acted the victim the whole time and downplayed his own actions, has done a fair bit of prison time since), but they did nothing. The brothers, meanwhile, just made the mistake of pushing one of their neighbors too hard one day and it finally blew up in their faces. I wonder how much they terrorized that whole neighborhood.
The really sad thing is that the one person on their side who was trying to keep the peace was the one who ended up dead. And now they probably use his memory every chance they get to play victims. Law enforcement needs to learn to more effective about these situations. I bet most of these situations wouldn't get to this level if the police stepped in and kept the peace the way they're supposed to do.
I agree. Especially about the cop part. They need to step up and show these people they mean business. Like, "look the next time I come out here someone is going to jail!" I know u need a reason to arrest someone but my point is show that they (cops) are tired of this nonsense and will do SOMETHING about it. I don't have all the answers but I agree, they need to learn to be more effective.
P.S. I guess I missed the episode you are talking about. Recall the name of it?

the one with the kids who bullied the new kid was called "nail in the coffin" which was the first episode in season 3 that just started back up again, i thought that sucked so bad that the cops couldn't do anything until someone got killed, it seems like a lot of these I.D shows are similar in regards to the cops waiting for someone to get severely injured or killed before they can intervene

We've noticed it's a common theme on this show...a cop saying "we told them we are sorry but until something happens we can't do anything" or one of the people on the show repeating that same phrase as told to them by the cops. That one lady even had video footage. Got told same thing...might as well tell the people "look when one of you is seriously wounded or killed we wil do something g but until then we can't do anything."
I don't know... I understand wanting to protect your property and defending everything you have worked hard for. I will say that some of these people just needed someone to come in, slap them, and tell them all to grow up. I do think people underestimate crazy people though.. This episode makes me want to live in the woods.
The House of the Rising Gun really peed me off. The single mother of the kids who knew the guy was batshiat, and the batshiat guy's father for just ignoring his son's problems.
I wish the single mother had of just moved away and still don't get why she just opened the door knowing she had a crazy neighbor who had stolen her gun on top of that.
