Madeline character - Big Little Lies (2017) Discussion

From the casting announcements I imagine it'll be Reese Witherspoon playing Madeline and Nicole Kidman will be Celeste. Can't really describe Reese how they describe Celeste, 'the kind of beautiful woman who makes the world stop and stare'.

That can't be right though. Madeline is famously 40 in the book & Celeste was younger. Not as young as Jane, but younger than Madeline. Unless they are re-writing that, Nic has to be Madeline, Reese, Celeste. I get what you are saying though. Although Reese is stunningly beautiful, in comparison to Nicole, it doesn't fit. Of course I pictured Anna Gunn as Madeline (before I knew there would be a series, of course) and Isla Fisher as Bonnie.

I can totally see Nicole as Celeste. I could see Reese as Madeline. But more so Jane.

I pictured Mandy Moore as Jane. Isla Fisher as Bonnie. It's weird to read a book that then gets made into a movie or series because you already have people pictured. Anna Gunn was my Madeline, haha

I completely see Nicole as Celeste. Although she's older than Celeste she has that natural delicate beauty.

I could see Reese as Madeline actually. She has played some pretty spunky roles before.

For Jane I could see Kim Kardashian... (KIDDING) I haven't figured out yet who should play Jane.

Wait, Madeline is the one that gets hit or is that Celeste? I forgot.
But I agree, I think Nicole would be amazing as Madeline (not the mom of the twins) and I pictured Celeste (mom of the twins) as Reese everytime.
