Chris Potter dying

Okay, so we know the guy has other commitments and can't do the show. That might be the reason they have a new Brandon, but few care about him. Some are upset Chris Potter is gone, one person saying it's a "deal-breaker." That's fine. Matter of taste. Some are upset that they have him dying.

Fine. If you are okay with there being a show, how do you want to explain him not being around, except maybe a few cameos? He's a small town cop. Is he on a special mission? Some relative turn up that he has to go to and be away from his loving wife and teenage daughter? Do they divorce? Well, that would be like the actress from "Touched by An Angel" divorcing! The scenarios come off as sort of lame.

But, I'm game. How would people it rather be? Noting that setting up James Denton as a love interest provides additional fodder to the show & that yes, spouses do die. Personally, I thought it was done in a touching way & helped add weight to the family reacting to Brandon becoming a police officer. But, matter of taste.

Roma Downey did divorce.

PS A review notes: "The one main character who won’t be back is Chris Potter, who played Cassie's husband Jake in the movies.

That concern moved Hallmark to put out a statement saying it wanted Potter, but he was contractually bound to his Canadian TV series "Heartland."

Sounds like they got some feedback!

Well I was pleasantly suprised and if I hadn't ever watched the movies would probably watch. I am glad they did deal with his absence vs changing entire storyline. But, I watched it for the light viewing and liked their romance so call me an old sentimental fool, it's just hard to
Keep hearing about his death and see Cassie dating other people . Yes I know it's a tv show but after watching the movies for years I got attached. I think the daughter will get annoying and not crazy about the Brandon replacement actor. But minor details. I guess my preference would have been to keep doing one movie a year when Chris Potter had time off. But that's just me
