Another perspective

I am not Muslim but in my reading of "The Lawful and the Prohibited In Islam" I found something interesting that relates to Sharknado 3.

The opening action scene takes place in The White House. We see tons of destruction of these American symbols. One instance is the bust of an American president falling down and being smashed into a shark.

Islam is against statues, including busts, whether it be of an idol or leader. The book mentions the angel Gabriel seeing one. He would not enter the house because of it. He said, "Order that the head of the statue be broken off so that it resembles the trunk of a tree."

Another reference involves Muhammad telling a man to leave no picture undefaced. It is made clear that what is important is debasing the image so that it will not be respected. How interesting it is that in a movie made by Americans, pretending to be patriotic, we see clear examples of American symbols being debased.

But the scene that really gives it away is when they take paintings of American presidents and use them as surf boards. To quote the book again, 'Ikrimah said, "We detested seeing figures in the upright position but did not mind if they were in rugs or mats, since to tread on them was to debase them."

American presidents, patriotic symbols of America itself, are tread on and debased. To be clear, I'm not saying Muslims made Sharknado 3. Only that this movie appears to be intentionally anti-American in its imagery.
